About Me
I’m an artist, designer, fabricator, and problem solver based in Savannah, GA. Originally from New Orleans, I spent 10 years at Kern Studios before deciding to shake things up in 2016 and try something new in Savannah. Although I primarily work ing EPS Foam Sculpture by hand- I also got into digital fabrication, experimenting with multi-axis robotic milling, high-detail 3D scanning, and 3D printing to create massive sculptural elements. These days, I build giant sets and sculptural pieces for film, TV, architecture, props, and themed environments.
I’m always looking for new ways to meld art and technology in the creative process.
As a proud member of IATSE Local 491, I work in the film and TV industry as a Set Sculptor. I’ve led Sculpture departments with up to 22 sculptors, foreman, and gang bosses. Recently just completed the EPIC 5th and final season of Stranger Things. Before that- Barry Jenkins’ Underground Railroad, The Menu, Devotion, and worked as the Sculpting Foreman on Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. All dope experiences with wild arrays of personalities and talents.
When I’m not making big things, I’m out in nature—kayak fishing, landscaping, camping, hiking, or exploring the endless iterations of community.
I’m always up for a cool creative project, so don’t be shy—hit me up at connect@alexandersherrod.com.
